Category: Gear

I just figured out that these were once the regular dogs that were here.

My brother wanted me to move servers with him so he paid for my server transfers.  Crazy huh?

I redid the bank alt about 4 times on the new server.  I finally settled for the name Skullcoins (she’s a DK).  Used the same white hair color, face, skin color or as close as I could remember.  Originally I was leveling this Death Knight thinking Doubloon is still on Sargeras and I left her behind.

The Death Knight

The Death Knight

Felt guilty about leaving her but it had to be done.  When I finally got to Stormwind, I purchased x8 inexpensive Netherweave Bags and x4 Frostweave Bags.  Purchased the bank slots and equipped the bags.

I purchased the guild charter and luckily got 4 guildless souls to sign my charter, one was Liddy.  I named the new guild bank <The Nightmare Banker>.  Then Purchased the first 3 guild bank slots.  I’ll probably pick up more slots when I start to make more gold.

I started to put back all the mats, BOAs, etc in the bank and newly formed guild bank.  We were putting things on the AH and moving items between toons.  She started to feel like Doubloon.

Then as soon as I moved over my old bank alt gear to her and equipped them.  She transformed back in to Doubloon.  My bank alt is back.  Same skin, different name and a higher level.  The benefits out weighed the costs.  You now have a better bank alt.

The Bank Alt

The Bank Alt

Professsions

She will cook for you, fish for you, store your goods, organize your bank for you, run to the store for you, etc.  Just like a good house wife. She already comes equipped ready to bandage you with First Aid at level 270 and unlocked recipes.

You can still put Enchanting and Engineering on her.  She will have access to higher profession levels which is especially useful for disenchanting low level mats.

Gear

She will wear the finest outfits up to level 60 or greater which equates to more looks. She can still equip the Diamond-Tipped Cane.  She also has access to pink hair if you are a Night Elf.  My brother recommends leveling your bank alt to level 70 so you can have access to more variation of looks with the gear from Outland.

Travel

She will have a mini sprint called Death’s Advance.  She will also get free ground riding from being a Death Knight.  The Death Gate to Ebon Hold will get you around Azeroth.  She will have access to a bunch of flight points for access to those secret vendors that sell you those recipes and other items for profit.   She will even ride your flying mount because just one more level and she’ll have flight.

If you level the bank alt higher you will get access to unique but useful traveling abilities.

Level 58
Death’s Advocate – A mini sprint which increases your passive run speed by 10% and when activated will increase your run speed by 30%.

Level 61
On a Pale Horse – An ability that passively increases your mount speed by 20%.

Level 66
Path of Frost – An ability which will allow you and your raid members to walk on water.  This ability is so useful my brother actually won the Stranglethorn fishing tournament on a level 70 Death Knight.  He did get a lot of unpleasant whispers that day.

Please see additional information on the original The Bank Alt Post.  I hope you will take the time to redo your bank alts.  It was the most unpleasant experience of my life but worth it.  It was like pulling String of Alligator Teeth out of the Bag of Shiny Things from Dalaran’s fishing daily .

World of Warcraft: Legion

WOWLEG_Logo_sm_m01

I promised the wife I would sleep early tonight so I am going to keep this short.  Now it isn’t because of the recent announcement at Gamescon that is making me not sleep.  My grandmother passed away and I’ve been trying to come up with memorable and fun stories, I can share at the funeral.  Even though my blog posts have been dormant since February, I’ve been continually active  with the World of Warcraft community on Twitter, so please follow me @Guntitan.

Back to the expansion announcement.  I am excited.  Let Hunters tame frogs and I’ll be all set! Just kidding.

Demon Hunters

The biggest announcement for me is Demon Hunters.  I’ve been waiting to play a Demon hunter since WotLK and I was first introduced to Illidan to farm for drops for  Warglaives of Azinoth and Cursed Vision of Sargeras.  I have successfully gotten the helm on  a few toons but unsuccessful at getting the Warglaives. Just to achieve that look would be awesome.  Now with the upcoming expansion we can!

DH_DPS_Female_05_PNG_png_jpgcopy

No Weapon Drops

I am also excited for no weapon drops.

Why?  I always felt progression should be about skill.  With gear drops you are also limited with progression by luck.  MoP and WoD changed this with personal loot system and changing raiding and introducing flex raiding.

When Guntitan was a full time raider back in WotLK and Cata sometimes we would not be able to move on to the next boss without getting more DPS out of weapon drops.  It was such a waste of time waiting week by week for a specific drop.

With the new weapon system we will be encourage to play the game and still be able to progress thru content by getting more powerful without depending on one specific item.  We are getting that major determining factor for our DPS from the start and the way for it to get stronger is to play the game.

No PVP Gear

Did you ever spend weeks farming Honor then Conquest just so you can be at the top of Arenas or Rated BGs?  It is work.  I did this for a gear set on my Warrior back in MoP.  I tried to do it in the beginning of WoD for the Warrior transmog set.  Frankly when a game becomes work just for an aesthetic look, it no longer becomes fun.  What is fun?  Smashing face while duel-wielding a set of your favorite looking two handed swords.  Getting off the kill shot on an almost dead Horde.  Out damaging almost every other class in the BG.  Heroic Leaping to your next victim and stunning them so you can dish out some damage. Outlasting a healer class because you are so in-sync with your toon that they cannot break you.  Not today you bastard Druid!

End of rant.

Did you enjoy your time in the BG or were you too squishy because you just started farming Honor?  I really hope this changes in Legion because I do enjoy PVP for the gameplay and not the Hunt for PVP gear. Especially PVPing on my Warrior.

I really hope with Legion we get to enjoy all aspects of the game without worrying about gear.  It already is a time consuming process just to level a toon but leveling is a gated experience meant to let you enjoy content.  With the upcoming improvements now we can really enjoy the content.  I am looking forward to the next expansion.

‘Til next time…

P.S.

I really hope Engineering gets a Fel Reaver combat pet.

Gearing for PVP – Titan’s Grip Fury Warrior

WoWScrnShot_081014_205618

You are a Fury Warrior with Titan’s Grip and you are not sure how you should gear your toon for PVP. You want to have x2 2Hs.  You want to dual-wield the Greatsword.

So you were like me, looked all over the internet and found nothing.  You decide to ask your old Alliance friend from your first server who switched to Horde and currently PVPs, how do I gear my Fury Warrior.  You explain to him the whole reason why you rolled Warrior, you want to Transmog Armageddon x2, you figured PVP would be the easiest way to obtain x2 2H swords. You tell him your dilemmas(see below):

Dilemma one.

You don’t have Armageddon to transmog.

You need to run Naxxramas 25 weekly.

Dilemma two.

You need swords.

You need 7500 Honor before you purchase the aforementioned Greatsword.

Dilemma three.

You need to farm Honor quickly and efficiently.  You ask trade and receive a logical response.

Convert any extra Justice Points to Honor > Tol Barad(do the weekly quest) > Wintergrasp(do the weekly quests, destroy towers to speed up the process) > if possible solo Vault of Archavon 25 man > Alterac Valley or Isle of Conquest and/or Daily BG (depending if you are good or have a guild)

WoW 5.4.8: How To Get PvP Geared Fast and Fastest…: http://youtu.be/DAqmTxkpujI

Optional
Do the Grizzly Hill Dailies and the Thunder Isle Dailies for about 800 Honor.

Obtaining gear from Celestial and Ordos – Weekly
First go back to Timeless Isle before you queue cross realm raid finder. Queue and make sure you hit the world boss for a chance at free 550 PVP Gear. If you queue before you are at the boss they might kill it before you get there.

Dilemma four.

You need to know your gear priority but before you jump into BGs with a fresh 90.  Please obtain the following gear, not necessary in this order:

Crafted PVP gear (476 gear, optional, could be costly) > Timeless Isle Armor Tokens (a fast set of 496 gear especially if this is an alt and you have a bunch of plate tokens saved up) > Use Burden of Eternity on offset pieces(belt, feet, wrists, neck) first for a few 535s  > Timeless Isle Polearms x2.  The Yak-Herder’s Longstaff will cost you 40,000 Timeless Coin > upgrade Yak-Herder’s Longstaff fully to 505s for 2000 Valor Points total (don’t worry you will be converting Justice Points to Honor) > then Jump into the BGs

Now… your friend from your old server comes up with…

2 set > x2 2H Swords > 4 set > trinkets > offset (belt, feet, wrists, neck, rings, cape)

2 set Disarm Duration reduced by 50% and Increase PVP power by 500

Chest
Grievous Gladiator’s Plate Chestpiece (2250 Honor) >

Helm
Grievous Gladiator’s Plate Helm (2250 Honor) >

You can’t DPS without weapons

2H Sword
Grievous Gladiator’s Greatsword (3500 Honor) >

2H Sword
Grievous Gladiator’s Greatsword (3500 Honor) >

You can stop here (going forward is optional if you are only doing this for swords)

4 set Increases your speed by 70% for 3 sec after using Heroic Leap and Increase PVP power by 1000

Legs
Grievous Gladiator’s Plate Legguards (2250 Honor) >

Hands
Grievous Gladiator’s Plate Gauntlets (1750 Honor, reduces Hamstring by 3 sec) or

Shoulders
Grievous Gladiator’s Plate Shoulders (1750 Honor)

Trinket
x2 Trinkets gives 5,000 resilience – if you are Human get 2 DPS trinkets.  Depending on your play style pick up on use first.

Grievous Gladiator’s Badge of Victory

Grievous Gladiator’s Insignia of Victory

Grievous Gladiator’s Medallion of Cruelty

Offset offers no set bonus.

Belt
You can add a prismatic socket to your belt.
Grievous Gladiator’s Girdle of Prowess

Feet
Grievous Gladiator’s Warboots of Cruelty

Wrists
Grievous Gladiator’s Armplates of Proficiency

Cape
I would save Cape for last especially if you have obtained the legendary cloak from PVE.
Grievous Gladiator’s Cloak of Prowess

Ring
Grievous Gladiator’s Signet of Accuracy

Ring
Grievous Gladiator’s Signet of Cruelty

Neck
Grievous Gladiator’s Choker of Proficiency
or
Grievous Gladiator’s Choker of Accuracy

coming soon… Gearing for Prideful edition.

XOXO Maevalivia

Skoll was my first Spirit Beast I ever tamed.  It wasn’t Loque’nahak or the bear or the tiger.  It was the wolf.  If you ever played a dwarf you know wolves are one the first beasts you can tame.  The most legendary being Timber, he is only level 5 now, but in the past he was a hard kill, especially with his body guards.

ScreenShot_111609_211247

I swore. I sometimes miss that dead old server, Dalvengyr. Then I was browsing some old screen shots and I found these…

ScreenShot_122809_005648 ScreenShot_123009_103650 ScreenShot_122509_150846 They were from December 2009 during the WotLK expansion.  That bow and staff would match so well with my current transmog.  Which leads me to our most recent selfie together. WoWScrnShot_070814_193212

We were both admiring our recently planted trees. Since MoP came out and BM was actually good again, I took Skoll out and we rocked up the Hozen, Yungol, some Pandaren, some rogue Jinyu, and a few others.  He has been almost a constant companion since the expansion released.  I also created a transmog set reflecting his blue and white hues. I can’t wait to explore Draenor with this loyal pet.  That self heal and Mastery buff will help me so much.  Now what was that name of that bow again? I am pretty sure it was from Pit of Saron.
