Scythebitten was my 2nd level 85 during Cata.

He was originally more of a support toon to supplement Guntitan with Leatherworking leg enchants, mats and gear. During Cata I would pug raid groups as Feral and Heal in 5 mans and LFR.  He was also my second chance at getting holiday mounts until MoP when I leveled my third maxed toon to 90. My rogue Gearsedge.

During MoP he is my least geared toon.

I do miss him. When it rains he smells like a wet dog. When he skins he smells of iron blood.

WoWScrnShot_110211_204947WoWScrnShot_110211_204914

During Cata Scythebitten’s most notable accomplishments were getting the Swift White Hawkstrider and the Reins of the Raven Lord mount on the same day. Then a few months later he found the Mysterious Camel Figurine in Uldum, while fishing for guild mats for feasts. He was ported to the boss and DPS’d him down in his heal spec.  He got the Reins of the Grey Riding Camel and the title The Camel-Hoarder.

WoWScrnShot_012012_133904

During MoP this is the toon that I got the Reins of the Thundering Cobalt Cloud Serpent mount off Nalak. He also did not have Cloud Serpent Riding at the time.

Luckily he could still learn the mount and Guntitan is the only one who can ride the mount.

I always wanted to get the Frostscythe of Lord Ahune on this toon. Only my Mage has such an honor.

One day I plan to gear this toon again.

Why the professions? Why a Worgen?

I choose Leatherworking out of necessity. Guntitan needed leg enchants, crafted gear, and cloaks.

Skinning works well with Worgens because the racial, Flayer, and works really well with Swift Flight Form.  You skin faster with Flayer and you don’t have to unmount to skin a group of mobs. Worgens all have Viciousness which is a 1% increase to critical chance.  This passive ability matches well with the bonus you get from Master of Anatomy.

As a feral Druid the extra dash from the Worgen racial Darkflight helps especially in PVP while trying to run away, in PVE when trying to get out of the fire, or Soloing when you are trying to flee from a group of mobs you don’t want to kill.

About the Druid Class

I did have a OS Heals during Cata. I like the option of being able to choose which spec to play. There are 4 roles: melee, tank, range DPS and heals.

Swift Flight Form - Being able to shift into a flying form while falling is just so awesome. You don’t have to worry about falling to your death.  I also like to Dash, Darkflight, or use Stampeding Roar to run away then as soon as my aggro drops just Fly away.

Being able to fill in a role temporary.

Swimming form.  Just being able to breath underwater with Aquatic Form and adding the Glyph of Aquatic Form to swim faster is just a convenience.

I really can’t imagine being without my Feral Worgen Druid.

GT Lore if Guntitan and Scythebitten were to meet in game.

I am pretty sure Guntitan’s pets would be quite aggressive on their first meeting, especially if they see him as a Worgen.  In both forms Scythebitten is much taller than Guntitan. He looks vicious in his Worgen form but he is a Gentle giant as a Human. I always expected Scythe to be calm and quiet as a human. He would be the one meditating in the corner while Gun played with all his pets.

In combat Gun would see Scythe as a formidable ally. Ripping and tearing apart their enemies. As a Cat he would be aggressive and unforgiving. As a bear he would be a glutton for punishment but still hold his own.

If only were they to meet, Gun could thank Scythe for the armor and leg enchants and Scythe could reciprocate with a quiet bow for his Ghost Iron Dragonling and Spear of Xuen.

That’s my take on #DruidWeek

WoWScrnShot_082413_182615

I am joining the band wagon.

If you haven’t heard Lae at World of Lae is starting weeks of class discussion across the blogosphere, twittersphere, etc.

This Deathknight is the first Deathknight I ever got past level 70.

I got her to level 67 by the end of Cata. Then I dusted her off a few months ago and really started to level.

Why did I pick the professions?

I originally wanted to make her a BS/JC to min/max during Cata. I ended up leveling a Rogue first in Mop and putting ENG/BS on that toon. I figured pairing JC with mining because I was going to need ores to level JC.  It feels natural to have a toon that can do both Prospecting and Smelting.  It also seems weird not having those next to each other on my crafting bar.

I went JC for them mounts. I am trying get 200 mounts achievement. That’s one of the things I like to do in this game.

You also get Toughness from Mining and the Jewelcrafting only gems, Solid Serpent’s Eye and Fractured Serpent’s Eye.

Why a female Night Elf?

I like it when female night elves jump in place. Everything bounces. I mean Everything.

Pink Hair. Omg Pink Hair. So sexy.  The pink hair matches so well with the Blood Worms.

Now look at them Racials.

Nature Resistance - Reduces nature damage by 1%.

Quickness – Now gives you a 2% increased chance to Dodge. I still thought it only gave 1%.  I forgot it changed during MoP.

Shadowmeld - It’s like having a Hunter’s Feign Death. You wipe aggro but you turn invisible.  Especially usually for a tank during a situation when you know everyone else is going to die. Especially if the healer is already down.

Wisp Spirit - Increases your speed by 75% while dead.  As tank it would be so helpful for running back.  If you die in certain places like Icecrown you can fly as a wisp.  So awesome.

About the Deathknight class

I am debating if I should go for Shadowmourne.

I discovered that tanking ain’t easy. It’s a self conscious effort most of the time. I also wanted a tank so I could get pets and mounts out of the bags from heroics.

I like the Dots placed by diseases. I like how it holds aggro when you spread them with Blood Boil. I feel like Blood spec will be like the same affinity I have for BM Hunters.

I like Death Grip. Feeling like Scorpion is such a good feelng. Even that new one, Asphyxiate, makes you feel like Darthvader.

I like that DKs have Runeforging and don’t need enchants on their weapons. Enchants are so expensive. I like that the Runeforges are unique.

As a blood DK I feel invincible. I can’t wait until I try arenas or PVP.

I would gank lowbies with my DK.

I like the unique mount models Archerus Deathcharger and Winged Steed of the Ebon Blade.

DKs walk on water with Path of Frost and this toon will be a fisherman.  The ability may also help you win the fishing contest.

I always wanted Platekini transmog sets.

I wish the lore would continue. Its like everything stopped in Northend. What are the Knights of the Ebon Blade doing right now? I could imagine them having epics battles in Icecrown against the remaining Scourge. They must really be trying for the Super Simian Sphere. They must have a bank alts bank filled with Frostweave Cloth.

That’s my take on #DeathKnightWeek.

My rogue hit level 85 the other night and she wasn’t at the right item level to que up for the Mist of Pandaria dungeons. Sound familiar?

It was time go get them BOEs. Some of the ones I obtained at level 80 were still on my toon. I really didn’t replace gear until I hit level 84 and started to quest in Twilight Highlands.

The quest rewards from Twilight Highlands are no where near the item level required to play in the Mists.

The BOE armor was too expensive on the AH(200+G). I logged on to my leather working Druid and looked at what I could craft, which was almost every slot.  My Druid did have a ton of mats so I crafted a Misthide set and a Cloak of the Mists.

The Cloak stats are random so I actually don’t recommend crafting it. They do sell well on the AH, if you don’t mind farming the mats and taking a gamble. I crafted about 9 of them until I got the one I could use.

I was still short 1 point so I ended up buying a BOE necklace, Shadowfire Necklace of the Galeburst. Then headed through the mists. When I did que up the quest rewards from Jade Temple replaced my legs and bracers. I made the gear to que, don’t expect the gear to last you long.

Hey everyone,

I write posts for myself. Just kidding? I did start the blog on WordPress so I could keep track of all the hunter resources I would find on the web.  Now that baby is here(He is about 2 months old) and I have a full time job, my game time has whittled down to only Saturdays and Sundays.  This is a more of a exaggeration. I still play occasionally on the weekday.  My raid days are over.  My gaming high is limited to one or two 5 mans, which I usually do on my rogue, maybe some dailies on my main, and tiding up some achievements until MoP comes out.

The blog is more like a forth priority after the wife, the baby, and my game time.  There wasn’t really much to report. No gear lists to make, no interesting tames, and for whatever reason the beta client did not like me.  It’s okay. I didn’t have time to play on the beta and I didn’t feel like doing things twice. So here we are:

Hunter Glyphs and their changes

Frostheims preparation guide for Patch 5.0.4

I do recommend getting any glyphs that you are missing in your spell book. For your hunter, Vendor your melee weapon if it is soulbound. For any melee class who could hold a relic, or whatever else those lesser classes, like rouges would use, vendor that shit too.  I will miss seeing a staff or stick on my back but range weapons just look cooler.  What else was on my list?  Oh, really start to decide which hunter pets you might want to let go, I take it back, release all but your spirit beasts.  BM is supposedly the best spec out there.  I would also make one spirit beast a cunning pet for PVP, another tenacity for tanking and solo-fun, and the third one for PVE.

BTW, my brother just told me that the patch is going to take about 6 hours to download. Go figure.

Baby is doing fine.  He is about 12 lbs now.  I couldn’t have asked for a more loving and caring wife.  For a girl who did not want to have kids, she is doing a great job.

I’ll report more later(about the game changes). If you look at my trend of blog posts, I usually report things when they go live.

‘Til next time… (which is hopefully tomorrow, or sometime sooner than 2 months)
