WTH (WHAT THE HELL) ??? No wait this is so wrong.

Let me explain.  I went to Desolace.  It’s a long walk from the Barrens.  You need to travel thru Stontalon Mountains to get there.  Don’t feel like explaining it in detail.  Maybe later?

I caught a Scorpashi Snapper (Level 30 – 31).  Which had Claw (Rank 4).  I was on Petopia and saw Scorpashi something so I caught a Scorpashi something.  Little did I know that the Scorpion I needed is called Scorpashi Lasher (Level 34 – 35).  I did a few quests to level me from level 33 to level 34.  Sought out the little “Lasher” and he was surrounded by birds and electric spitting kodos.  I kept dying.  I died all day.  So I gave up.  I’ll come back for Claw (Rank 5) in a few levels or I’ll come back with a group.

UPDATE:

8.19.08

I did it!!!  I came back to Desolace not too long after I dinged to level 35.  I found a Scorpashi Lasher near the main road.  Tamed it, used it for a little while, and learned Claw 5.

Obtaining Bite (Rank 5)

 About obtaining Bite (Rank 5).

Aye!

This one is easy but it’s a long trek.  Take the flight path (in either Booty Bay or at the Rebel Camp) back to the Wetlands.  Head back east along the main road until you reach a fork that goes north.  Head north and go past Don Modr to enter Arathi Highlands.

We are looking for Plains Creeper (level 32 -33) so hopefully a few quest back in Stranglethorn Vale dinged you enough to tame him.  They are everywhere and you don’t have to stray far off the main road to tame one.  If you stabeled your pet, good, if not, go back to the Menthil Harbor and do so.  If you have a Stranglethorn Tiger that you used to obtain Dash 1 and you plan to dump him then go ahead.  Catch that Plains Creeper!

Use him until you learn how to train your pets Bite (Rank 5).  Yay!

Don’t leave yet.

We should obtain a flight path cause who wants to walk, when we can fly.

That flight path is at the Refuge Pointe and is north from where you entered Arathi Highlands from the Wetlands.  Don’t go east unless you want to meet some Hordies.  Trust me, they love to gank you.

The Refuge Pointe is the same place where you can get PVP rewards for turning in Arathi Basin Mark of Honor tokens.  They got some good leather armor for young Hunters but the chances for winning this Battleground is usually slim for Alliance.  This Battleground is the reason why I stopped getting Arathi Basin tokens and gave up obtaining some nice leather gear.  I decided to farm gold for my Mount and move the heck on.

About learning Dash (Rank 1) .

Aye!

Assuming you made it all the way to Booty Bay and otained the flight path at the Rebel Camp.  Go west of the Rebel Camp (veritfy name).  To find some quests including ones that ask you to hunt beasties.  Complete these quests to get you to a high enough level so that you can tame a Stranglethorn Tiger (Level 32 -33) and use it until you learn Dash (Rank 1).

Obtaining Cower (Rank 3)

Aye!

About learning Cower (Rank 3).

After entering Stranglethorn Vale from Duskwood you can go west to find a Refugee’s Camp.  Pick up a few of the quest and do as much as you can.  Why?  You need to level your character, you’ll see why later.  South of the camp you can find a Young Panter (Level 30 – 31).  Tame him and use him to get Cower (Rank 3).  Simple yeah?

Not so simple.  This isn’t what I did.  I forgot to leave my wolf at a stable.  Some other Alliance character told me to follow him to Booty Bay.  I didn’t have the flight path and he did.  Big mistake!  Never go directly to the town you never been before.  I didn’t follow the main road and got ganked by beasties that were level 40.

Long story short.  After I figured out to follow the main road I made it to Booty Bay and got the flight path.  No more walking.  Booty Bay is your base of operations in this area.  It has a bank, an auction house, and a book you can buy to level up fishing to 275.  Oh yeah and a Stable Master who is near the bank and inn.
