Gorilladin.

Aye!

I caught me a gorilla.  I didn’t really pay attention to BRK’s methods on how to sucessfully use a gorilladin.  So this is what I ended up doing:

  1. Turned off cower.
  2. I’ll figure out a good way to distribute skill points.
  3. Aspect of the Hawk.
  4. Turned on everything else.
  5. Hunter’s Mark first bad guy.  He’ll die first.
  6. Made the gorilla attack all nearby bad guys.
  7. If I cared about the pet’s focus I would of turned off everything.
  8. Ideally use Volley then Thunderstomp.  I had everything on.  My gorilladin did Thunderstomp when he wanted to.
  9. I might not have been the most successful hunter but I had fun killing 3 things at once.

Here is what I did for my pet’s talents.  Gorilladin.

I took on every stamina increasing talent.  My gorilla’s purpose is to take on multiple mobs at once.  I need a lot of health for that.  Spirit Bond is based off of total health.  I don’t want to use mana often with Mend Pet.  I’ll let spirit bond do the healing.

Mana should be used for Volley.  With Aspect of the Viper we don’t have to worry about mana so much but in battle our mana use has a priority.  You don’t want to be trying to replenish your mana while 3 mobs are attacking your pet.  Our priority is to kill things quickly and Aspect of the Viper decreases our attack power.

You want Boar’s Speed  or Charge so that your Gorilla can approach each mob quickly.  With Guard Dog you can keep the mobs on your pet and not you.

The way you roll your talents is up to you.  I did it my way cause it made the most sense to me.  I’m sticking with Beast Master you can reroll Marksman if you want.  If it works better let me know.  I’ll consider it.

BRK’s talents spec for his Gorilladin.

No more ALTs…

/ooc

I told my self no more alts.  Didn’t work out.  I made a Night Elf druid last night.  It was fun playing her and questing with low level equipment again.

During today’s bus ride to work I started thinking about WoTLK.  I need to focus.  I read Hexapuma’s blog and found out that we were thinking the same thing.  He made a list so here is mine:

  1. Ding to level 70.
  2. Level Engineering to 375.
  3. Level Mining to 375.
  4. Level Cooking to 375.
  5. Level First Aid to 375.
  6. Basically max out everything… except maybe fishing.
  7. Make gold. I want a mammoth!
  8. No more alts! Period! No matter how bored I get.

P.S.

I want that Purple / Lavendar cat already!

Un'Goro Crater

Aye!

Q:  What’s good about being sick?

A:  Being able to play World of Warcraft for hours until you collapse on your chair.  Now that’s what I call a flu remedy.

List of quests in Un’Goro Crater that yield good Mail armor for Hunters:

  1. A Little Help From My Friends – Part of a chain but gives you Clayridge Helm.
  2. Beware of Pterrordax – Finish this quest and get Ghotslab Gloves.
  3. The Bait for Lar’korwi – Part of a chain but gives you Outrider Leggings.  I didn’t keep it cause I got Infernal Trickster Leggings from Maraudon.

I completed all the quests that I could pick up in Un’Goro Crater as a level 50 beast master hunter.  I would say most of them are pretty easy.  Your basic kill quests and collection quests.  The horde here aren’t always friendly so watch out.

The first Devilsaur that I encountered surprised me and killed me.  Ganked a whole bunch after that.  Sorry to anyone who was trying to come here and tame one.

Those Stone Guardians are really tough.  Haven’t killed one yet.  I would wait until they turn orange or yellow to you.  They are still red to me.

Aspect of the Viper

Aspect of the Viper

100 yd range
Instant
The hunter takes on the aspect of the viper, causing ranged attacks to regenerate mana but reducing your total damage done by 50%. Mana gained is based on the speed of your ranged weapon. Only one Aspect can be active at a time.

Aye!

What can I say about this?  As of 3.0.2 we have Aspect of the Viper.  Hunters needed a faster way to replenish mana.  Blizzard fixed US.  No more running away and no more running out of mana.

Now I can blast away with Aspect of the Hawk, then when I’m out of mana I can throw on Aspect of the Viper, fill up my mana bar, switch back on Aspect of the Hawk, and fire away until the mob or mobs are dead.

I’m still feeling my way around as a revamped Hunter.  Blogs will be posted at a minimum until I can figure out myself.  I still need to find me a gorilladin but I’m waiting until I hit level 53.

Now WTH is shot rotation?

3.0.2 is here!

Yay!

Listen to Big Red Kitty’s podcast episode 6.  He has good tips on what to do as a hunter!  The patch was around a 3 hour download and around an hour or so install.  I would have had screen shots but my wife had guests over.  She wanted me to help her and spend time with them.  Bad timing!  I should of told her, “No!  We cannot have guests over.  I need to download a major patch for World of Warcraft.  WoW is more important than your mother.”

I need to find me a gorilladin.  I was thinking about getting gorillaskinsilver.  I like the color of his eyes.

Next stop Tanaris.

Aye!

Tanaris has a lot of quests.  Most of them deal with killing pirates.

  1. Lots of easy kill quests.
  2. Pattern drops for Scorpid Armor.
  3. Last robo-chicken egg quest.  This one is a far walk with less group spawns.  Most of the enemies you encounter are already on the path.
  4. Nice sandy beaches.
  5. I want a turtle!

I dinged to level 49 here without much effort.

Next blog:  Next stop Zippy’s Tanaris.

Quick Overview of Feralas.

Aye!

  1. Dawnrider’s Chestpiece see finding mail armor post.  This piece has been with me up until level 55 or so.  Good grab.  Go get it!
  2. Fun quests like shrinking giants and killing yetis for their hides.
  3. Egg quest – Find the egg, find the robot chicken, escort the chicken.  Nice robot chicken reward!  Wait… There are 2 more eggs to find.
  4. Decent drops.  Kill yetis.  I found some good leather armor drops.  Gave them away. =)
